So, I don't know which novel to work on in my McDaniel class. I've been working on "The Summer of Nancy Kate" for the last 6 months. Normally, summer is my time for working on new stories. Can't do that this summer.

I thought about working on "Blanket of Snow" for my class. That way I could research "Color of Death" and work on it when the class is done. Since they both are set in the same place, I could kill two birds with one stone.

Still, there's "Harry Back" which is so close to being 'submittable' and "Summer of Nancy Kate" which I should probably just keep plugging away on...

I had hoped that writing this blog would help clear things up. But I'm afraid I'm still confused...

Feel free to add any insight you might have!

Posting More Often and 'Plotting' Along

I have a dilemna. Not only is it difficult to find time to blog...Once I find the time, I can't remember HOW to blog. It took me no less than 20 minutes to find this particular window. When we ask 'older' people to blog about their writing, we need to remember the 'old dog new trick' factor. Just saying.

So, now that I'm on...
I've been working on my plotting using Novel Metamorphosis by Darcy Pattison. It's seriously hard work. And, as always, I'm left feeling as though my work in progress is the worst piece of drivel ever written. I had to completely rethink the heart of the story. Now I'm plotting the novel in a spreadsheet and finding that my character is a whiny little thing. This is the time when an author needs the support of his/her colleagues. This is such a lonely, thankless business. How crazy that it is also the thing I must do!

These are my musings on the last day of Winter Break. I'm hoping to write every day when school is back in session. Wish me luck. And send some love. Yours, Cat
